Our Pastor

Pastor Larry, and his wife, Becky, began their ministry with us in January, 2002. Pastor Larry is a 1982 graduate of Cedarville College (now Cedarville University). He majored in Bible with minors in Greek and Christian Education.

Following a couple of Assistant Pastor positions, he spent nine-and-one-half years teaching at First Baptist Christian School in Elyria, OH. This was followed by six years of experience in the secular world working on computers and networks. He ultimately ended up at Moody Bible Institute as the Assistant Manager for Information Systems. When he moved to NW Indiana to take this position, he and his family joined First Baptist Church and became active in serving here.

When our previous pastor left for another ministry, the church asked Larry to fill in temporarily as they searched for a new full-time pastor. After several months of his ministry, the church asked Larry to become the next pastor. Much time was spent in prayer, after which he accepted the position.

Becky has her education in Secretarial Studies from Cedarville, but has gained most of her experience as a full-time mother. Her involvement in the ministry is extensive as she leads many of the Women's and Children's ministries. She is an invaluable asset to Pastor Larry.

Together, Larry & Becky have three children (Bethanne, Jon, & Amy), one daughter-in-law, Tina (Jon's wife), and four grandchildren (so far!).
